EXPOSE AND CRUSH RACISM IN THE WORK PLACE

NUM Western Cape Media Alert,  07 October  2016

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) in the Western Cape strongly condemns the persisting racists’ practices in certain work places in our province such as CSV Construction. In the immediate the CSV construction company which members of NUM are employees has been engaged in such a backward and apartheid practises. White bigots in the company have called our members “Kaffirs”.

As NUM we have raised our utmost disgust with the company but it has become clear that the company’s does not want to act decisive against the perpetrators and that confirms the existence of white supremacy in the company in the post 1994 political break-through.

As the NUM having been part of the liberation movement

which defeated the apartheid regime whose agenda was to entrench white supremacy even in the workplaces have resolved to expose and crush racism wherever it raises its ugly head.

Against this background, the media is invited to a picketing scheduled as follows:

·Date Friday 07th October 2016

·Time 15h30

·Venue CSV Offices, Somerset East, Old Main Road, Firgrove

The NUM will deliver a memorandum to the company’s Managing Director Mr. Alex Kloper.
