NUM UPDATE ON CURRENT ESKOM WAGE NEGOTIATIONS
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has noted the latest offer from Eskom. There are two options that Eskom presented to the unions which are options A and B. The NUM is taking the latest offer back to its members to give us a mandate as to whether they accept or reject the offer. Eskom is proposing a three-year wage agreement.
Eskom latest wage offers are as follows:
Option A
2018-7% and house allowance at CPI2019-7% and house allowance at CPI2020-7% and house allowance at CPL
Option B
2018-7,5%2019-7%2020- 7%
Please note that Option B comes without a housing allowance.
The wage negotiations will reconvene on the 27th of July 2018 and the unions will report back to plenary the mandate from our members.
