The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is deeply saddened and shocked by the fatal incident that happened at Unit 5 of the Lethabo Power Station where one worker who is an NUM lost his life at the scene of this shocking incident, whilst one other employee, also an NUM member is said to be in a critical condition at the hospital.

NUM National Women's Structure strongly condemns the killing of the NUM Kwazulu-Natal Women Structure Treasurer Nombuso Duke and her mother by her ex-boyfriend yesterday
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) Women's Structure is angered and saddened about the brutal murder of comrade Nombuso Dube who was the NUM Kwazulu-Natal Women Structure Regional Treasurer and that of her mother in the morning of Sunday; 07th October 2018. Both mother and daughter were shot dead by the ex-boyfriend of Comrade Nombuso. This is a great loss to the NUM to have lost a young woman in the hands of the person who claims to have once loved and cared for her.

The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
