NUM Central Committee gathering to be held at Saint George Hotel in Pretoria

NUM members at Eskom totally rejects poverty wage increase of 5% offered by the company.
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) rejects with disgust a lousy offer by power utility Eskom of 5% and a sliding scale of between 0% to 1%. This horrible increase will drive thousands of Eskom employees into poverty taking into account the continued rise of Consumer Price Index (CPI).

The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
