NUM MOURNS THE PASSING AWAY OF SAMWU GENERAL  SECRETARY COMRADE KOENA RAMOTLOU

 

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has learnt with great sadness the passing away of SAMWU General Secretary, Comrade Koena Ramotlou.

 

Koena Ramotlou was recently elected General Secretary at the union’s 12th National Congress held in December 2020. He also previously served as the union’s Deputy General Secretary after having been elected to that position in 2015 at the union’s 11th National Congress.

 

On behalf of the mining, energy, construction and metal workers, the NUM sends its deepest and heartfelt condolences to Koena Ramotlou family, his friends, and the entire SAMWU membership.

 

May his soul rest in peace!
