Media accreditation for the upcoming NUM National Congress to take place at the Birchwood hotel conference centre in Boksburg from 30, 31 March to April 1 2022

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is set to hold its National Congress from 30 March to 1st April 2022 organised under the theme “BACK TO BASICS IS WHEN WE DEFEND AND ADVANCE TO BUILD A RADICAL MOVEMENT”.

Amongst the speakers invited to address the conference are sector ministers that would include Mineral Resources & Energy Gwede Mantashe,  Employment & Labour Thulas Nxesi, Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan. Minister Blade Nzimande will address the Congress ast the SACP General Secretary.

Leaders from the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), the African National Congress (ANC), the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) and the IndustrALL Global Union are also scheduled to address the congress.

Due to the high-security nature of the congress and also in respect of the country’s Covid-19 regulations, members of the media are urged to apply for accreditation timorously.

The NUM will not be able to entertain the last-minute request for media accreditation.
