NUM to sign a five-year wage agreement with world’s leading diamond company, De Beers 

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) will today afternoon sign a five-year wage deal with the world’s leading diamond company, De Beers, on behalf of its more than1 500 members.

This comes after a marathon of wage negotiations with the company which lasted for almost seven months.

“The NUM is a mandate driven trade union. We have made several moves during our negotiations with the company.  The NUM members are very happy with the deal and have mandated us to sign the wage agreement”, said NUM De Beers Chief Negotiator. Masibulele Naki.

Details of the wage deal will be unpacked tomorrow together with De Beers management during an organised press conference scheduled to take place as follows:

Date             : 02 November 2023

Venue          : Gold Reef City in Johannesburg

Time            : 4:30 pm

All members of the media are invited to witness the signing ceremony.

The NUM stands proud as a worker leader and will continues to change many lives of the working class by improving conditions of employment. The signing ceremony would be led by both the NUM President and the NUM Deputy General Secretary.
