About Us
The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn

NUM congratulates its former President for being appointed minister

posted on
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) congratulate its former President Senzeni Zokwana for being appointed as a Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries by President Jacob Zuma today.

This is in line with swelling the ranks of the ANC which is a Cosatu Congress Resolution .We believe that this also is consistent with the spirit to deploy to advance. As NUM, we have been spoiled by his wisdom and knowledge and we are thankful to have worked under him and the NUM fully supports him to advance the course of the working class at a different angle.

He led the union with commitment and dedication for a period of years. South Africa as a whole deserves comrade President Zokwana` s knowledge and services. We wish him all the best.
