posted on

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) had a lengthy meeting yesterday (13 January 2014) with Northam Platinum under the auspices of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) and it will convene a mass meeting with its members on Wednesday ( 15 January 2014) 10:00 at Northam Platinum in Limpopo to brief them about the outcomes of the CCMA meeting.

NUM Chief Negotiator at Northam Platinum Ecliff Tantsi said the union is not in a position to divulge the outcomes of the CCMA meeting yesterday until it meet its members on Wednesday. "The outcomes of the CCMA meeting today are embargoed until the NUM meet its members on Wednesday," Tantsi said.

He further said that the two parties will reconvene again on Wednesday (15 January 2014) afternoon at 2:00 after the mass meeting.

The NUM members have resolved to continue with this peaceful, bloodless and effective legal strike in the platinum sector strike.

The strike continues.
