The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) members will embark on a march at Gold Fields South Deep operations on the 24 May 2016.

The march will start at 4 pm.

The NUM members will hand over the memorandum of demands to the management at South Deep sports grounds at 5pm.

The memorandum will contain a number of concerns as well as unfair labour practices under which the members of the NUM are subjected to in this company.

NUM members at South Deep operations are opposing the management proposed changes on shift rosters and fulco allowance; unfair recruitment process tailored to suite management preferred candidates.

Workers are also opposing the company’s five year Employment Equity plan for 2016 submission and are calling for transformation of the lilly white senior and middle management structures.
