NUM welcomes the removal of Amanda Nair as Pikitup Managing Director
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) welcomes the decision by the Pikitup board to remove former Managing Director Amanda Nair.
Nair had been facing various allegations of corruptions from the South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) and was placed on special leave.
"We congratulate SAMWU for putting pressure on Pikitup board to make sure that Amanda Nair is removed. SAMWU has been fighting issues of alleged corrupt activities at Pikitup for some time.The NUM also support SAMWU that there should be criminal investigation lodged against her," said David Sipunzi, NUM General Secretary.
