The National Union of Mineworkers ( NUM )members have triumphed in their battle that lasted for 75 days of bloodless strike . The strike that was characterized by unity , peace and harmony has come to an end.

NUM and EXXARO will soon conclude and sign off Equalisation Agreement which destroys the policy of inequality at Exxaro Resources. The Agreement introduces fundamental changes in improving the working conditions of workers .This is a culmination of a tough engagement process that started in 2008. For example Exxaro Coal Business came into existence after the Kumba Iron Ore unbundled in 2006 to form Sishen Iron Ore Company (SIOC).

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) calls for a peaceful and bloodless industrial action tomorrow in the platinum belt.

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) had signed a wage agreement today with Northam Platinum management.

NUM met with Northam PLatinum management on the 13 January 2014. Management improved their offer by 0,5%. This take their total offer to 9,5% for Core workers and 8,5% for non core workers for category 2-8 employees.

The National Union of Mineworkers is deeply disappointed by the CCMA Award. The award is the outcome of an arbitration process which started in 2013. NUM `s displeasure is that the increase awarded by the CCMA on basic salary is exactly what Eskom proposed and to its favour.
