About Us
The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn

NUM rejects Northam Platinum wage offer.

NUM met with Northam PLatinum management on the 13 January 2014. Management improved their offer by 0,5%. This take their total offer to 9,5% for Core workers and 8,5% for non core workers for category 2-8 employees. They further proposed 9% for living out allowance. This is proposal of two years.
