NUM welcomes the return of workers back to work at Medupi Power Station
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is very pleased to announce that  1,700 workers who were suspended and 197 workers who were dismissed at Medupi Power Station will now go back to work tomorrow (15 April 2015).

NUM concludes a three-year wage deal with Gold Fields Limited.
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) a majority union at Goldfields with 82% membership penetration concluded a wage agreement supported by the Chamber of Mines. This agreement was concluded separately due to the uniqueness of South Deep Mine which is a highly mechanised mine with a different skill base.

About Us
The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
