NUM has noted the latest wage offer from Eskom
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has noted the latest wage offer from Eskom that it presented today during the second day of the third round of wage negotiations. Eskom gave what it termed a “take it or leave it” final offer. The NUM is taking the offer to its members to get a mandate as to whether they are accepting or rejecting it. The union will be reporting back to the plenary next week Friday (6 July 2018) the mandate from its members.

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is disgusted by the level of brutal arrogance shown by the black majority led Eskom negotiating team. The negotiation team has suspended their ability to reason and decided to stick to the straight jacket mandate of 0% to all demands from NUM. We view this approach by the Eskom negotiating team as a wasteful and fruitless exercise. They had the audacity to call a special and highly armed force to intimidate the NUM negotiating team.

The National Union of Mineworkers was founded in 1982.

Its birth was facilitated by comrades Cyril Ramaphosa who rose to be its first General Secretary, James Motlatsi who turned to be its first President, and Elijah Barayi who became its Vice President and later the President of Cosatu in 1985 when the federation was formed. porn
