About 150 NUM members on strike at Long Meadow
More than 150 members of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) went on strike yesterday morning at Espon near Pietermaritzburg in the KwaZulu-Natal Province.
They work for Long Meadow which is a subsidiary of Corobrik and they manufacture bricks
"The NUM members are demanding R300.00 across the board for wage increases. They are also demanding improvement on family responsibility leave, maternity Leave and housing assistance," said Bhekani Ngcobo, NUM KZN Regional Coordinator.
