NUM condemns vicious killings of police officers in Eastern Cape

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) condemns the killings of five policemen who were killed during an attack on a police station in Ngcobo, between Mthatha and Komani (previously Queenstown), Eastern Cape on Wednesday morning.

"These killings were a vicious, heartless, calculated and atrocious attack on police in Eastern Cape. These police officers were targeted. We are extremely horrified over these events, and we stand united with the police in South Africa," said David Sipunzi, NUM General Secretary.

"Police have a tough job. We mourn those in uniform who are protecting us who lose their lives," Sipunzi added.
