NUM Press Statement, 21 March 2016

NUM Deputy President Joseph Montisetsi to visit Lily Mine tomorrow.

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) Deputy President Joseph Montisetsi will visit Lily Mine in Barberton tomorrow to meet with the management of Vantage Goldfields. The meeting will start at 11 am.

The NUM is extremely worried that the rescue mission to find the three trapped workers in a metal container about 80 metres underground is ongoing and is taking forever. Montisetsi will meet the management in the morning to get the latest report on the rescue mission.

He will also meet the families of the trapped workers and after the meeting with the families, he will then address NUM members, community and the alliance partners at a mass meeting in the afternoon.

The media is invited to attend and report.
