NUM has noted the appointment of the new Director General of Mineral Resources.

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) notes the appointment of the new Director General of Mineral Resources. We hope he will hit the ground running in tackling the scourge of job losses, fatalities and lack of transformation in the mining industry. We hope he continues and strengthen the area of stakeholder engagement, especially towards the finalinalisation and gazetting of the Mining Charter. We also wish to welcome Mr David Msiza back as Chief Inspector, hoping he will immediately deal with the fatalities.
