Press Statement, 15 January 202
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is saddened and disturbed by the news of the passing away of the PUDEMO former President Mario Masuku on Monday the 11 January after a short illness.
NUM like all other progressive organizations has always supported and will continue to support the liberation struggle of the Eswatini people and the trade union movement in Eswatini.
Comrade Masuku played a pivotal role in the liberation struggle of the Eswatini people and personally suffered a lot at the hands of the cruel and heartless Eswatini government by being imprisoned and harassed.
Comrade Masuku was a true revolutionary who tirelessly fought for the workers, people of Eswatini and Africa as a whole.
NUM leadership conveys its condolences to the Masuku family, people of Eswatini and the Eswatini liberation movements during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace.
