NUM mourns the passing of North East acting regional chairperson comrade Eliot Magaba

NUM MOURNS THE PASSING OF NORTH EAST ACTING REGIONAL CHAIRPERSON COMRADE ELIOT MAGABA

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has received with shock the sad news on the passing of North East Acting Regional Chairperson Comrade Eliot Magaba in a tragic car accident on Sunday.

“As NUM North East Region, we are deeply affected by this unfortunate accident and we are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that comrade Eliot is no more,” said NUM North East Regional Secretary Phillip Mankge.

Comrade Eliot Magaba played a role in the ranks of the NUM, in particular, he fought against the exploitations of poor workers and fought gallantly against poor working conditions in and around the North East region.

The NUM extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Comrade Eliot Magaba. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
