NUM National Women Structure ready to convene its national elective conference in Durban from the 24th to 25th of February 2022

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) National Women Structure is fully ready and prepared to convene its national elective conference from 24th-25th February 2022 at Olive Convention Center in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

The conference is organized under the theme “Working-Class Women Advancing Socio Economic Transformation".

Expected at the conference are 370 delegates, both voting and non-voting.

Amongst confirmed key-note speakers to the NUM National Women Structure Conference included Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.

NUM President Joseph Montisetse will also address the conference.

There will be messages of support from COSATU 2nd Deputy President Louisa Thipe, the ANCWL President Bathabile Dlamini, the SACP Central Committee member Cde Nomarashiya Caluza, and from other progressive and fragile formations, both local and international.

Other than the elections, the conference is expected to deal with policy issues about the challenges faced by women at workplaces both in terms of political and economic emancipation.
