Media Statement 10 January 2024
The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) Rustenburg Region urges all workers at Impala Bafokeng Platinum Mine to return to work with immediate effect on their next scheduled shifts as the company acceded to their demands.
After an extensive engagement, the NUM leadership and the company resolved on the following:
It must be noted that the above is on condition that all RBPM employees currently not reporting for work, return to work with immediate effect on their next scheduled shift, and without any other further conditions.
Workers who fail to return to work as per the above arrangements will not be protected by this undertaking.
For the continued mandate and objective of saving jobs, the NUM leadership across all structures, still urge and persuade workers to return to work.
