NUM welcomes the court ruling on the sentencing of Annikie Setuke's murderer

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) welcomes the court ruling on the sentencing of Annikie Cynthia Setuke's murderer at the Palmridge High Court on the 27th of September 2016.

Annikie Cynthia Setuke was raped and brutally killed at Kwezi shaft in Aquarius on the 9th of October 2013 by Thapelo Arthur Motseki.

The NUM is extremely happy that this brutal, heartless and evil murderer has been sentenced to four life sentences and 50 years  at Palmridge High court.

The NUM still trying to heal after the similar incident occurred at Anglo (Khomanani shaft ) where the life of Binkie Mosiane was cut short. It took almost three years for justice to be served. As the NUM Rustenburg Women Structure, we appreciate that justice has been served though we take cognisance that it won’t bring back Annkie," said Sankie Molefe, NUM Rustenburg Women's Structure Chairperson.
