NUM Youth Structure (num-ys) to hold its second national elective conference at Phillip Sanders resort in Bloemfontein tomorrow

NUM YOUTH STRUCTURE (NUM-YS) TO HOLD ITS SECOND NATIONAL ELECTIVE CONFERENCE AT PHILLIP SANDERS RESORT IN BLOEMFONTEIN TOMORROW

The National Union of Mineworkers' Youth Structure (NUM-YS) is ready and prepared to convene its national elective conference from 20-22 November 2019 at Phillip Sanders Resort and Conference Centre in Bloemfontein. The conference is organized under the theme "Strengthening Youth Development to Safeguard Militant Trade Unionism in Fighting (Last in, First out) LIFO Principle Towards Job Creation".

The NUM National Youth Structure is a nursery from which the NUM hopes to draw its future leadership. Expected at the conference are 300 delegates, both voting and non-voting and a total of seven positions will be contested. Other than the elections, the conference is expected to deal with policy issues pertaining to the challenges faced by young people at work places both in terms of political and economic landscape.

Delegates to the youth conference will, on the first day of the conference, be ushered and officially welcomed by the Free State Premier Honourable Comrade Sisi Ntombela.

Amongst confirmed speakers to the youth conference included Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training Honourable Comrade Buti Kgwaridi Manamela, Cosatu Young Workers National Convener Comrade Xolani Fakude, and the Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) National Secretary Comrade Tinyiko Ntini. There will also be messages of support from leaders of other Progressive Youth Formations.
