World Federation of Trade Unions cherish its unwavering milestones

The World Federation Of Trade Union (WFTU) will be commemorating 77th unbroken years of advancing the struggle of the working class and more specifically workers as the most vulnerable strata in the economic pinnacles. 

“We are delighted of the milestones this gigantic federation has scored since its inception including but not limited to the recent WFTU 18th congress which culminated with myriad of resolutions inter alia, the commemoration of the 1st September as an international day of world peace. While we are emboldened by the flow of forthcoming surmountable activities, we often draw inspirations from many revolutionary writers in this particular case we could slightly use formidable quote from Amilcar Cabral  “Always bear in mind that the people are not fighting for ideas, for the things in anyone’s head. They are fighting to win material benefits, to live better and in peace, to see their lives go forward, to guarantee the future of their children”. This quote speaks volume in the light of the prevailing waning political discourse and appetite. The WFTU will continue to be the beacon of hope to the voiceless in its quest to deepen the ideological and political clarity at all levels of economic spheres,” said Maja Mphahlele, WFTU Africa English Speaking Regional Coordinator.

 WFTU calls on all our affiliates both in the SADC and globally to be steadfast ahead of unravelling key strategic resolutions and programmes in pursuit of fighting the imperialist order. Without any equivocation, WFTU wants to echo our disappointment by Morocco’s illegal occupation of the Western Sahara despite plethora of mechanisms by the United Nations to end the barbaric invasion and ill-respect of human rights. WFTU is unambiguously calling for the respect of member’s states ' self-determination and adhering to international laws respectively.   WFTU will be working side-by-side, hand-to-hand with all progressive forces towards the implementation of our 18th congress resolutions to inculcate working class hegemony against the bondage of triple oppressions. WFTU is keen to engage and collaborate with any organisation that is determined to fight the cause of workers.
